Graduation Day

One more milestone has passed. One more reminder that my little baby is growing up, that he's not so little and not so much a baby anymore. I watched him walk down the church aisle, sing songs with his classmates and receive his diploma.

Seeing him in that cap and gown was a bit of a flashforward. I can imagine the man he will grow up to be, but I have to remind myself to stay in the present. Enjoy each moment and celebrate each accomplishment. Happy Preschool Graduation to my little Monkey!

Being Full

Being a mother makes me feel full. That's about the only way I can put it. Having a husband who is my soulmate and is my foundation is what keeps me grounded (bless his heart for having to keep me grounded), but motherhood simply fills me up.

My children fill my heart with so much love that it almost hurts. My favorite thing is to look at them and find myself in them. It's Monkey's blond hair and the way he gets nervous in thunderstorms. It's Bug's stubborness and her toes that look just like mine. It's how Monkey is competitive hates to put his feet in the sand and how Bug is so sassy and knows just what she wants.

When I see myself in the two of them I know what it is to be a mother. I really can't even think about it too much or it will overwhelm me. I appreciate them as individuals but I love that they are part of me too. I love being full.
