They Were Good Days

I pretty much checked off everything on my Spring Break list, and then some.  Colson headed to the beach with his grandparents, so Lilly-Belle and I had a few days with just us girls. We went out to eat with my Granny and to story hour with some other bebes.

I got to celebrate my best friend turning 30 on Friday so Bug spent the night with her Nana. Saturday morning, Nick and I took advantage of being just a twosome and went to breakfast and then did a little thrifting at the local antiques stores. I found these beauties...

Then we got our Bug back and after her nap we went to pick strawberries. I think she ate as many as she picked! We ate them with fresh whipped cream last night and in strawberry pancakes this morning. Yum!

After berry pickin' we went to eat Mexican where I feasted on the best homemade guacamole that they make tableside. I could have eaten the entire bowl, but I was nice and shared with Nick.

Today we welcomed Colson back home, took Sunday naps, and now we have to prepare to return to our normal routine. I have thoroughly enjoyed our Spring Break; they were good days.

Spring Break Fun

For Easter, my Mama gave Colson and Lilly-Belle coupons to the zoo so the four of us went on Monday. It was a perfect day; the weather was gorgeous and we went early so we avoided the crowds that arrived later in the day.

To avoid a major meltdown, we only toured half of the zoo so we could eat lunch and leave in time for Lilly-Belle to take her nap on the way home.

 With the turtles
 The playful Arbor Seals
The little leeezzeeerrdd we saw on the walking path. He was probably the most interesting animal we saw! He would turn from bright green to dark brown and was trying to eat another lizard that was on the tree.

Me with my Monkey and Bug!
We had a lovely surprise...we saw Colson and Lilly's cousin Hailee there!

The next day we made a trip to the park and enjoyed more beautiful weather and fun.

 I love that stinkin' face!

This has been the best Spring Break that I've had in a really long time!

Easter 2012

We had a wonderful Easter holiday this year...egg hunt, lots of candy, church and lunch with the family. I know it was a lot of fun, but I hope that our children can come to understand exactly what we are celebrating and the joy of Christ's resurrection.

Here's our holiday in pictures:

Spring Break Agenda

While Number 1 on my list is a lot of sittin' and relaxing, I have a lot of things on my list to do this Spring Break:
2. Trip to the zoo with Mama and Kiddos.
3. Play at the park.
4. Read 50 Shades of Grey on the back deck during Bug's naptime.
5. Visit a sweet little newborn baby so I can get my baby fix.
6. Eat yummy treats and enough leftover ham biscuits to turn me into, well, you know.
7. Take walks.
8. Have a lunchdate with Lilly-Belle and my Granny.
9. Get my bangs cut again...KelleHampton inspired!
10. Celebrate a special friend.

Oh, and catch up on some posts (once the RedHead brings home the camera cord so I can add pics). I just love Spring Break!
