Buggy Boo is Two!

Today we celebrated Bug's 2nd birthday and what a cute little Bug she was!
We had friends and family over to help us celebrate and it made my heart happy to see so many little ones running around playing together. A house full of children always makes me smile...even if it is simply chaos.

They played and then we sang Happy Birthday and ate snacks and cake.

I just loved her ladybug cake!

The older kids made Gak, which was wild but totally fun, and then we opened presents.
She was in present heaven. Everyone completely spoiled her, but it's okay because every little girl needs to be spoiled once in a while. Happy Birthday Buggy Baby!(Eating, or should I say devouring, her birthday cupcake.)

My Little Cottontails

Just a few pictures of my two little cottontails this Easter. Easter is full of fun and egg hunts and filled Easter baskets, but it's also a time of miracles and wonder and promise. On the way to church we were talking and I was asking Monkey about the Easter story and what happened to Jesus. And he knew. He knew of His death, dying for our sins, of the tomb and how He rose and the tomb was empty. That was something I wish I could capture in a picture. All of the Easter fun we have is beautiful, but that was the most beautiful Easter moment this year.

Monkey Posing...isn't he handsome.

After the Bunny visited

A random little Piggy. Just for fun.

On the run for eggs!

He loves the hunt! :)

And I had a big glass of sweet tea with lunch! After not having it since the Lenten season began it was the biggest treat!

Even Mommys Have A Wild Streak

Last week I went and got a new tattoo. I had one on the right side of my back already, the Chinese character for "dream". But then I got a little idea that I wanted another one to go across my whole lower back. I wanted it to tie into the one I had already.

I chose the character for dream for a couple reasons and I wanted this one to be beautiful and meaningful to me as well. I decided on a crescent moon, but I wanted the moon to be a woman's face because my astrological sign in Virgo (the Virgin).

So I shared my ideas with an awesome artist in a neighboring city and he drew it up for me and agreed that we should reink my existing tattoo. A couple weeks later I was set up for an appointment to have it done.

Here's the finished product and I love it!

**It may look a little dry/bumpy because this was taken after 3 days so it still has a little healing time to go.

Beer-garitas are Fantabulous

I have the cure for a bad day, the way to celebrate a good day and an instant perk up for the ordinary day. Beer-garitas. Like margaritas only hyped up.

Kinda like the Charlie Sheen of margaritas. Logically it doesn't make sense that it would be good but for some reason it is. Winning!

For me it totally blew my mind because of the whole "Liquor before beer, never fear" concept. I thought it must be a big no-no to mix them, yet they're amazing and have never made me sick.

Here's the recipe:

12 oz of beer (I prefer Corona or Landshark)

12 oz of water

12 oz of Limeade concentrate (not the Margarita frozen mix)

6-12 oz of tequila (I LOVE Corzo Silver)

Mix all together and enjoy!

This recipe is enough to share, but if no one else wants to join in your margarita party (as it was this evening), just half all of the measurements and I go with 3-4 oz of tequila. That's plenty strong and you can enjoy the lime taste too.

Cheers friends!

First Steps Are Hard

I've been wanting, REALLY wanting to get back into blogging but I have a little problem. I don't know what I want to start with. Since I've been away for a while it's hard for me to know where to start.

I guess I'll just start with this.

Life is life. It's a crazy blur of days with some slow moments that I purposefully stretch out to savor every moment of them (like my Monkey turning five).

My job is a crazy thing that I fully love and yet can make me cry in the same moment. I think my heart is in it too much sometimes.

The only thing that keeps me sane and grounded is my darling husband. The last few weeks have been particularly stressful and he has done nothing but pamper and help me. I thank God every day for putting him in my life.

And then there's this little thing. Miss Diva Extraordinaire...can ya dig it!
I'll share more soon!
