Total Insanity!

Here we are again...

Back to the point where I put my game face on and decide to get fit {again}. Last April I decided it was about time to quit playing the "baby weight" card (I mean Bug was almost 1) so I did 2 Boot Camps and had great results!

Well, then I returned to work this fall and it was all downhill. Just like my blog was neglected, my body was neglected to. I've only gained a few pounds, but as anyone who works out can tell you..if you don't use it you lose it. I've lost any strength, muscle tone, and endurance I built last spring and summer.

enter Insanity.

The RedHead and I decided to do the Insanity workout program together. Yesterday was weigh-in and fit test day (day 1) and so today is our first official workout. We're also doing the nutrition plan, modified a bit to fit our likes. I'll keep you updated, but I from the looks of the dvds we may be insane for doing this!

Warning Signs

I had a mini-epiphany today. There are warning signs that I'm getting old{er}. It's frightening...

I fixed myself a nice cup of coffee this afternoon while perfectly good wine, champagne and liquor sit in the cabinet.

Sit in the cabinet! This worries me.

It's Friday night and the primary plan for the evening is to make spaghetti. Young people go out to eat on Fridays. This worries me.

I think I look better with my glasses on.
The majority of my tops show no cleavage.
I hound my kids about brushing their teeth.
I found myself driving below the speed limit for heaven's sake!

I'll be calling children rascals and stealing the sweet-n-low packets from restaurants soon enough.

I'm greatly concerned. Good thing my college friends will be here in a couple weeks to help me break some of these disturbing habits!

A Tempting Flashback

Since December 21st I have worked exactly 2 days and 2 hours. By work, I mean my paying job as a reading specialist. Winter break began on the 22nd of December and lasted until January 2nd.

As it would go, the Bug contracted a virus so I stayed home with her on Monday and then worked Tuesday and Wednesday as the virus proceeded to travel from Bug to the RedHead to my Monkey. By Wednesday evening I was sick, but Thursday morning I decided to tough it out and head to work. 2 hours into the day I was completely sick so I came home and I'll spare you the details, but I was out of commission for the next 2 days. Mother Nature then came and blessed us with snow and ice so I've been at home with my babies now for several weeks. It's a flashback to last year when I stayed home...a very tempting flashback.

We've stayed in pjs till noon, snuggled, had playdates, and I've been able to keep my house (more or less) clean and cook lots of yummy food like Chocolate Sheet Cake and Creamy Corn Chowder. I really miss being a stay at home mommy. They may have to drag me back to work kicking and screaming!

Welcome 2011

Ok, so I got blog lazy. I have an idea...let's just pretend that I didn't abandon this blog for a couple months and try to pick up where I left off.

It's a new year and we know what that means, resolutions. Here's what I'm working on this year:

~Continue last year's resolution of keeping it simple.
~Dance more.

That's it. I chose things I love and I resolve to do them more.

And just so you know I have been living life for the past several months, visual proof.

Monkey was Iron Man and Bug was a Ladybug for Halloween.

I attended my 10 year reunion with one of my bestest friends!

We settled into our home and hosted our first party here.

It snowed on Christmas!
Monkey looked more than adorable in his monkey 'boggin.

Preschool plays were attended.
Cupcakes were eaten.

Baths were taken.
Christmas card photos were taken.
Fits were pitched.
Santa visited.
Little mamas were made.
Faux pets were welcomed into the family.
Stockings were ransacked.
And many memories were made.
Goodbye 2010, hello 2011!
