19 weeks

My 19th week ends today. Tomorrow I'm officially half way there! WooHoo!

The Belly:

Hi Point: We officially started setting up the nursery. The crib arrived on Wednesday and Nick and Colson put it together while Lilly-Belle and I napped (such sweeties!). They know us ladies need our beauty rest!

Mama also bought ButterBean a new diaper bag. This kid will be stylin'!

Thank You Mama!

Lo Point: Feeling the need to slow down. A quick trip to eat and do a little shopping for the children/baby with my Mama this weekend was more tiring than it should be. I'm beginning to feel like I need to hold my belly up and I don't like that feeling. I'm carrying this one really low...boy maybe??

Siblings: Colson has been full of questions this week: "Is the baby sleeping?" "Is he kicking you now...does it hurt?" "How much longer till it pops out?"

Lilly-Belle has decided that she no longer wants to be a big girl. We were riding in the car and out of nowhere she proclaimed that she wanted to "grow little and be a baby". She also decided she needed to suck on the paci we bought ButterBean the other night. Bless her heart!

Cravings: Nothing really this week. Strange...

Lbs: +16

Looking Forward To: Continuing to work on the nursery. I have most everything I need...with the exception of a rug. I found this one that is perfect, but I don't think it's quite in our budget. I still have time to find one. :)

With An Accent

Last week Tara at Fabulous But Evil did a pretty polish with an accent glitter nail. I was inspired to try it (even if my Mama gave me a strange look). Here's my version:

Yes, I'm An Olympian

Well, I could be. Probably not in any type of athletic event, but I could definitely medal in the following events:

Eating Chocolate Iced Doughnuts...especially if they are from Krispy Kreme!

Shopping for Handbags, Shoes, and Accessories. What can I say, I'm a triathlete! If I were going for the Gold, I'd buy these...
Burberry House Check Tote
Christian Louboutin Pumps

 Slane and Slane Bee Pendant

Doing Fountas and Pinnell Running Records. I train for this event daily, but the summer is my off season. Even then, I occasionally practice on Colson to keep my skills sharp.

There is one event that I'd especially love to get a gold medal in...parenting. Sadly, I think even the best competitors in this event barely break bronze. All we can do is try hard and love them the best way we know how. In return, we get the best reward of all. They love us back!

What events would you medal in? Everyone's an Olympian!

18 weeks

18 weeks...here we go!

The Belly:

Hi Point: Having my mid-term ultrasound. You know the one...where you get to find out if it's a boy or girl. Except we didn't. This one's going to be a surprise! We did get to see our sweet little baby snuggled up in my belly though!
Facing the back. Using the placenta as a pillow.
The best profile we could get. This baby wouldn't budge!
All snuggled up! That's a leg in front of the face and a foot up top.

Lo Point: See (Lbs). The weight gain and general growth of my belly is getting a bit uncomfortable. Mostly during sleep, but also if I have to sit for a long time. This doesn't bode well for the upcoming months.

Siblings:We had several playdates with friends who have little babies (3-4 months) and Lilly-Belle was fascinated with them! She loved helping feed one of them, and the other she offered her lovey to for snuggling. I hope she's as tender and sweet with her own little baby brother or sister.

Cravings: English Muffins with butter and honey. I had one every morning this week for breakfast.

Lbs: +15 I knew it was coming!

Looking Forward To: The crib arriving this week! I am ready to get started setting up the nursery.

Top Five Friday...Smiles

I haven't done one in a while, so I thought I'd do an edition of Top Five Friday.

Five things that have put a smile on my face this week...

 1. New Essie polish, Bachelorette Bash

2. Lots of yellow and gray goodies for ButterBean, with a sweet little elephant in the mix.

3. Eating a cone of this delicious icecream, Front Porch Sublime Key Lime Icecream (made right here in NC!)

4. Arm Candy

5. Watching my babes learn to swim like fish

What has made you smile this week?

A Gift From Clover Cottage

On Friday the 13th, DJ at From Clover Cottage held a giveaway for one of her adorable personal creations. And while Friday the 13th may be bad luck for some, it was my lucky day!!  I was so excited when she contacted me to tell me that I won!

The winner had the choice of a flip-flop motif shirt or hand towel and being that my belly is growing daily, I opted for the hand towel. It arrived this week and is just precious. I chose blue and green (some of my favorite summer colors) and as soon as it was out of the package, it was hanging in my kitchen.

The picture really doesn't do it justice...blame my poor photography skills, but isn't it lovely?!

I want to say a big Thank You to DJ and invite you to go visit her blog From Clover Cottage!

Check, Check, and Check

We've been checking a few more things off of our Summer List lately. Sidewalk Chalk Paint, a day trip to Boone, and playing in the rain!

The sidewalk chalk paint was really fun and easy (thanks Pinterest). Just mix cornstarch, water, and food coloring and you're done.
Before we began
Slinging Paint
And taking a break to look at the sales paper.
My smiley face, Lilly-Belle's lines, and Colson said his was Jesus on the cross.

Last weekend we took a trip to Boone, NC so we could show the children the home of their future college, Appalachian State University! :)

We ate a delicious lunch at Our Daily Bread.

Then visited campus for a photo-op at The Rock.

Did a bit of shopping at the Tanger Outlets and played in the park in Blowing Rock while we ate icecream from Kilwins.

It was a great day trip.

Then yesterday we took advantage of the rain showers and did a bit of playing in the rain. Well, the kids played and I sat on the steps and sipped coffee.

Our list is getting shorter and shorter, but then so is our summer. About a month left, then it's back to school!
