Weekend Update

What I'm reading:
Ha! With a newborn, the most reading I do is on Twitter (140 characters at a time).
What I'm watching:
Downton Abbey  Can I just say I love this show!

What I'm eating:
The RedHead and I are trying to eat clean so there's lots of veggies, quinoa, chicken, oats, pitas, hummus, and fruit smoothies.

What I'm drinking:
Gloria Jeans Butter Toffee Coffee for the Keurig

What I'm loving:
Morning snuggles with my babes, enjoying a beer for the first time in a long time, and having other new mamas to talk "baby talk" with!

What I'm hating:
The promise of snow that doesn't deliver. Only a dusting the first time, and sleet and freezing rain the next. Boo Hiss!

What I'm wearing:
Pre-pregnancy jeans...yeah baby! (Nevermind the muffin top. If they button they fit and nobody better say anything to me about it.)

Where I'm going:
How about where I'd like to go? Back to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic where the RedHead and I honeymooned.

Where I'm shopping:
Not doing any actual shopping these days, but I do enjoy perusing online. Here are a few things in my imaginary shopping cart.

Marley Lilly Tank

These awesome sweatpants...I need either Fancy Pants or Sassy Pants

Old Gringo Boots (because I'm a sucker for boots!)

What's going on with you?

Life List Update

I thought it was about time to update my Life List since I can now mark off a few things.

Here's what's happened so far:

August 2011- I commissioned a handbag to be made by a lady on Etsy. It was inspired by this Mulberry bag.

Fall 2011- I bought a pair of cowboy boots. I love wearing them. They make me feel sassy. :)

Fall 2012- I have grown my hair to the middle of my back.

December 2, 2012- I had a third child...Master Samuel George!

Now what to do next? I have a tattoo idea in mind. (which I'm sure my mother and husband will just love!) ;)

Chocolate Banana Overnight Oats

I've seen "Overnight Oats" all over Pinterest and Instagram for a while now, so I decided to give them a try. The verdict...delicious!! I can't wait to try different variations.

Here's what you need to make them yourself:

1/2 cup Rolled Oats (no 1-minute or quick oats)
3/4 cup Almond Milk (I like the vanilla to add a bit of flavor)
*My oats had a bit of liquid left, so if you want them thicker I'd reduce the milk to 1/2 to 2/3 cup.
1/2 tablespoon Chocolate PB2
1/2 sliced banana

Mix the oats and milk in a container (I used a glass jar) and place them in the fridge overnight.

The next morning, add in the PB2 powder.  I liked mine cold, but here's where you'd pop them in the microwave if you want them warm. Add sliced banana and enjoy!

The Nail Files

Today I'm linking up with The Nail Files to share this week's mani.

On Wednesday I got both Lilly-Belle and Sam to nap at the same time...but only for long enough for me to paint my nails (which was the most productive thing I did that day).

I used China Glaze's Ahoy which I would describe as a bright wine color with sparkle. Very pretty!

*And guess who forgot to schedule her post and actually link it up...this girl. Mommy brain!

My Confessions

I am linking up with Catalyn this week to share my confessions...

Confession 1: I have been meaning to write a post since the first week that she hosted the link-up, but it just never seemed to happen. (Lazybones!)

Confession 2: I think it's a total waste to do you hair when it's raining. Just pile that mess up in a bun!

Confession 3: I think so many more things are possible after morning coffee which is why I'm glad this lovely has entered my life. Thank you to the RedHead!

Confession 4: I have a slight obsession with dishes. I currently have 2 sets: the first set are the ones that we got for our wedding and the second set are ones that I fell in love with (from Walmart of all places) by Better Homes and Gardens.

If I could get another set I'd buy these:
Aren't they gorgeous!

Confession 5: This post took me twice as long to write as it should have because it was written while trapped under a nursing baby...which coincidentally is how this blog was started back in 2009 when Lilly-Belle was just 3 months old!

What do you have to confess today?

Life With Three

Time for blogging is scarce these days as our family adjusts to having a new baby in the home. Simply keeping up with laundry is a full time job...I did four loads yesterday and there's one in the wash now. Enough excuses as to why I haven't written lately. Here are a few truths about life with three.

-Timing is everything. This is especially true when it comes to lunch and naps. It is like a carefully choreographed dance in order to get both fed and asleep so that they have a good nap before I wake them to go pick up Colson at school.

-#2 will not be like #1. Colson was always so patient while I had to feed Lilly if he needed something (snack, video put on, etc). Lilly is not so patient. If I'm unavailable, she'll simply do it herself...which usually results in her climbing on cabinets, turning on water, or some other dangerous/messy action.

-Going anywhere is like a three ring circus. First, we all have to pile into the car (careful to make sure the one in the middle gets in before the two in the outside seats. Get everyone buckled, find a place for the massive diaper bag, warn everyone not to touch each other, and off we go. Then, the second act occurs once we arrive. Adults out, stroller out, baby out, and then Colson and LB out (which has to occur last so we make sure LB doesn't take off across the parking lot). It makes me tired thinking about it!

-And then there are moments where I have Sam on my lap on the couch or in the bed and Colson and Lilly-Belle snuggle up beside me and talk to their little Sam-a-do, each trying to get a smile or for him to reach for their finger. These moments calm me from all of the crazy moments. They warm my heart and make me so thankful that I have a life with three. A busy, crazy, lovely life with three.

Christmas 2012

This holiday season seemed to pass by in a blur! A six year old, three year old, and 3 week old kept us quite busy.

Our elf, Reddy, visited again this year!

We had Lilly-Belle's preschool Christmas program. Her favorite song was This Little Light of Mine.
Shaking those Jingle Bells!
This year we decided to pass on the gigantic real tree we've had the past two years and opted to just use one of the artificial ones that we had. I named her "Minnie" and this is the only picture I have...once Santa had dropped off the kids' loot.

Christmas morning, Nick cooked his traditional biscuits and gravy and we had his parents, brother, and my mom over to eat and open presents.
Lilly-Belle playing a song for Sam

Colson throwing darts at his new dart board
Sam chilling on his playmat

Mama snuggling with all of the babes

The cousins with their GiGi, great-grandmother

We celebrated with family and everyone loved on Sam...it was a wonderful Christmas (even if I didn't take but a few pictures). :)
